Recently, the first domestically produced independent aviation rotor engine made a stunning debut at the 2024 Zhuhai Airshow. The Yunzheng Power Aviation Rotor Engine, carrying the hopes and efforts of countless people, became a focal point of the airshow. It marks a major breakthrough for China in the field of aviation engines, breaking the foreign technology monopoly and injecting strong impetus into the development of China's aviation industry, ushering in a new era for domestically produced aviation rotor engines.

Domestic Glory Shines in Zhuhai

From November 12th to 17th, 2024, the 15th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition was held in Zhuhai. Jiangsu Yunzheng Intelligent Power Technology Co., Ltd. launched the nation's first unmanned aerial vehicle rotor engine, "RG30," at this airshow. At the booth, Yunzheng showcased two series of the "RG30" rotor engine: the integrated ignition and the electronic control versions.

Yunzheng Power founder, Jiang Xinyun, stated that the engine is a core component of the UAV industry and is key to determining the overall performance of the UAV. This 30KW rotor engine can be applied to heavy-load, long-endurance UAVs, including those used for firefighting, emergency response, logistics, and island takeoff and landing. Yunzheng Power will next complete the research and development and standardization of heavy oil and oil-electric hybrid rotor engines.

Successful Test Flight Breaks Monopoly

Yunzheng Power was established in 2023. Its core product is the aviation rotor engine, which is currently in the mass production trial stage. The 30KW rotor engine showcased was completed and test-flown in Xi'an in August 2024.

The engine used in the test flight reached a maximum power of 30KW. Small-batch production has been completed, and it can be applied to heavy-load, long-endurance UAVs, including those used for firefighting, emergency response, logistics, and island takeoff and landing. The company showcased the integrated ignition and electronic control versions of this rotor engine at the Zhuhai Airshow. Aviation rotor engines have advantages such as high power-to-weight ratio, compact structure, low vibration, and strong high-speed performance. They are considered one of the most important solutions in the global next-generation aviation power field (excluding turbine-based power), effectively solving the bottlenecks of the UAV industry: low payload, short cruising range, small operating radius, and poor stability.

Embarking on a New Journey of Mass Production

Currently, the Yunzheng Power aviation rotor engine has entered the mass production stage. This is a milestone moment, signifying that this advanced engine will transition from exhibit to practical use, from the laboratory to the vast sky. Mass production will bring new vitality to China's aviation industry. Whether it's civilian aviation regional aircraft, general aviation aircraft, or specific flight equipment in the military aviation field, they will all have the opportunity to use this high-performance engine, improving flight performance and safety.

The Yunzheng Power aviation rotor engine has broken the long-term technological monopoly of foreign countries in the field of aviation rotor engines, allowing China's aviation industry to have independent control over core power components and taking a solid step towards becoming a strong aviation power.
